'LEARNING THE LESSONS' |

(the eleventh edition, 21/11/2001, of thoughts and commentaries on bowls) Rain Papli is a member of my ‘Elbows’ squad who is a ‘plodder’ in the eyes of so called good bowlers at his club because he is in the third pennant side. Rain will delight one day when he does achieve the greater heights in bowls because he trains until his hands bleed ( an observation from a fellow club member). What appeals to me about Rain is his capacity to learn even when we are in mid- 50s and this is exemplified in his report to me on the observations he made of the Trans Tasman bowls series played earlier this year. Rain has ATTITUDE…….. in bundles. Let me share his observations from the game with you………. Steve Glasson (Australia) v. Kerry Chapman (New Zealand)
(The national football coach) Sheedy article on ‘second’ gains more credence in the above observation; i.e. if you tune out of the competition for a second , second is where you come. Enjoy the bowling wherever you are in lawn bowls internationally "Good Bowling"
